10th Anniversary Celebration

GW Nursing's 10th Anniversary logo

This spring will mark 10 years since GW Nursing was chartered as the 10th school at the George Washington University. During our first decade, we have achieved many successes, including recruiting renowned faculty, receiving national recognition for our graduate programs, and launching innovative academic initiatives that will shape future generations of nurses and nurse leaders. We hope that you will join us in celebrating these accomplishments at festivities in the future as we look forward to our next decade.

A Decade of GW Nursing

Ten years ago, when the GW School of Nursing formed to become the university’s 10th school, faculty shared a small cluster of offices in Innovation Hall. Founding Dean Jean Johnson sensed, though, that someday the building would bear the school’s name. A decade later, it did. While the school’s infrastructure growth far exceeded expectations, GW Nursing’s impact is best measured in nurses educated and careers advanced.
