Congratulations on your admittance to the George Washington University School of Nursing! We hope you’re excited about beginning your studies here, and we want to ensure the transition is as seamless as possible. Process to Accept Admission
Once you receive notification of acceptance, you must sign a declaration of intent and pay a $500 deposit within two weeks of receiving notification of your acceptance. Veterans are not required to provide a deposit but must complete the declaration of intent.
Undergraduate Student Requirements
If accepted into an undergraduate program, you will be required to submit some documentation:
- Immunization records, including PPD (within the past 12 months) and evidence of hepatitis B, MMR, varicella, diphtheria, polio and tetanus vaccination
- Copy of physical examination
- Copy of American Heart Association's Basic Life
- Support for Healthcare Providers CPR certification
- Copy of health insurance
- Copy of criminal background check
- Copy of drug screening test results
Graduate Student Requirements
If accepted into a graduate program, you will follow the standard process of accepting admission. You may also be required to submit criminal background checks and drug screening results.
You may request in writing that your admission be deferred to a future semester within one calendar year, and you will not be required to pay an additional application fee.
If you wish to defer admission for more than one year, you must submit a new application along with the application fee. A request for deferment does not guarantee that you will be admitted again, as your application may be re-evaluated with the applicant pool for that semester.
