Advanced Practice Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner Certificate

Coursework for the Advanced Practice Palliative Care Certificate option begins during the summer semester. This certificate prepares advanced practice nurses to provide comprehensive physical, psychosocial, emotional and spiritual care to terminally ill patients and their families. The palliative care option will train advanced practice nurses to become specialists and leaders in disease modifying care, pain and symptom management, with attention to highest quality of life possible and providing compassionate end-of-life care.

Program Information

Prerequisites

Students must obtain approval from the Program Director prior to admission. 

Admissions Requirements

Students must be concurrently enrolled in the MSN: Adult Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner, Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Family Nurse Practitioner.

Those students interested in this certificate as a post-masters option must currently possess a MSN as either a NP or CNS.
