Center for Teaching Excellence

The George Washington University School of Nursing works consistently to advance the standards of health care simulation and online learning in order to offer students the comprehensive nursing education.

Our Virginia Science & Technology Campus offers three simulation centers totaling more than 10,000 square feet. The Simulation and Innovation Learning Center is home to a variety of simulated (manikin) patients ranging in age from infant to adult and displaying conditions from stagnant to high-fidelity. This sophisticated learning environment affords our students and partner organizations a space to develop and master the clinical skills and knowledge they will need in practice.

"Educators who demonstrate teaching excellence inspire lifelong learning and excitement tied to discovery in the discipline of nursing. Just as nurses should enact evidence-based practice, excellent teachers must use research findings, best pedagogical practices and innovative strategies to meet learner needs and preferences."
