Debriefing Across The Curriculum

This is an interactive two-day workshop starting with theory and standards of debriefing. Principles of debriefing will be applied to simulation experiences using theory-based debriefing methods. Evaluation of debriefing competence and the use of debriefing in off-campus clinical and classroom will be discussed.

Objective:
Upon completion of the intensive, participants will:

  1. Describe the theory, standards and methods of debriefing/reflective practice.
  2. Utilize varied theory-based debriefing methods post-simulation experience.
  3. Review debriefing skill using an evaluation tool.

Target Audience:
Novice and experienced simulation educators with a recognized need for education in debriefing.
