Global Initiatives: New Advances for Nurses and Physicians in the Area of Global Surgery

Please join us for a presentation on the exciting new advances for nurses and physicians in the area of Global Surgery. The talk will describe the recent involvement of the WHO, World Bank, G4 Alliance and other large organizations and individuals in responding to the need to improve access to quality care for the two-thirds of the people on the planet for whom this basic right is denied.


Dr. Gail Rosseau Gail Rosseau MD, FACS, FAANS is a Clinical Professor of Neurosurgery, Department of Neurosurgery at George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences, Washington, D.C. She is a leader in Global Surgery, serving in the leadership of the World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies (WFNS), G4 Alliance and Foundation for International Education in Neurosurgery (FIENS). She currently advocates for global neurotrauma prevention on the ThinkFirst Board of Directors and as World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies Liaison to the World Health Organization. She has been an early leader and adopter of simulation technologies for surgical training. Her current clinical work is with veterans, for whom she has great passion.
