Policy Series Seminar
Andrea Brassard is a Senior Strategic Policy Advisor at the Center to Champion Nursing in America (CCNA), an initiative of AARP Foundation, AARP, and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. She works on the Future of Nursing: Campaign for Action, a national initiative of those same organizations to transform health care through nursing and build healthier communities for everyone in America. She returned to CCNA from the American Nurses Association where she was Director of Health Policy. Dr. Brassard was formerly faculty at the School of Nursing of the George Washington University and is currently adjunct faculty at the University of Maryland, School of Nursing. She earned PhD and MPH degrees from Columbia University, where she was a funded public policy fellow. A nationally certified family nurse practitioner, she practices at Maryland retail health clinics on alternate weekends. Dr. Brassard is a Fellow of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and the American Academy of Nursing.
