GW Nursing's division of Ventures, Initiatives and Partnerships leverages the school's existing expertise, resources and innovative spirit to advance the nursing profession and health policy.
- Leadership Programs
VIP crafts leadership programs for health care leaders to help them develop their executive skills and presence.
Programs can include residencies in Washington, D.C., Capitol Hill experiences, one-on-one coaching by GW Nursing's influential health care leaders and more.
These programs can be tailored to an organization's specific needs. VIP staff is happy to answer any questions you may have.
- Experiential Learning
GW Nursing offers learning experiences for high school and college scholars, as well as health care educators.
VIP staff is happy to talk to you about whether GW Nursing can tailor an experience for your young scholars or health care educators.
- Consultation Services
GW Nursing leverages its faculty expertise on a consulting basis to educational and health care organizations worldwide.
We have faculty members offering expertise in simulation, health care workforce issues, nursing education and more.
- Educational Resources
Leading Healthcare Quality and Safety is a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) taught by GW Nursing Founding Dean Jean Johnson and Dr. Gregory Pawlson. The MOOC is offered through Coursera.
GW Nursing makes several additional resources available to the public. Academic modules on everything from graduate school preparation to clinical compliance are available through GW Nursing.
- Hosting Events
GW Nursing has hosted the Hospice and Palliative Nurses Association (HPNA) spring summit, an International Association for Clinical Simulation & Learning (INACSL) pre-conference and National League for Nursing (NLN) workshops.
VIP can draw on the expertise available within GW Nursing, including the GW Nursing Center for Health Policy and Media Engagement's expertise and the Center for Aging, Health and Humanities' work with older adults, to create meaningful conferences and workshops.

With more than 10,000 square feet of simulation space at the Virginia Science & Technology Campus, GW Nursing has the resources available its educational and health care partners may need to arrange experiential learning experiences.
We also have office space in the heart of Washington, D.C., just steps away from a Metro stop and blocks from the White House.

- Faculty Immersion Offerings
Thinking about refining your skills? Why not spend a week this summer in Washington, D.C. immersing yourself into a topic of your choice? We offer a curated portfolio of simulation programs and consulting services to health care organizations, academic institutions and simulation professionals with a focus on assessing and enhancing simulation center operations, educating instructors, extending hospital-based simulation programs and developing simulation operations leaders.
