GW Nursing Graduation Events

GW Nursing celebrates its graduates this weekend with multiple events. On Saturday morning, BSN, MSN, DNP and certificate graduates will walk the stage at Lisner Auditorium on GW’s Foggy Bottom campus. Sunday morning, GW Nursing graduates have the chance to participate in the only graduation ceremony staged on the National Mall when the entire GW community gathers for University Commencement. Sen. Tammy Duckworth is the University’s Commencement speaker.

Palliative Nursing Summit Hosted at GW

GW Nursing is pleased to host a Palliative Nursing Summit convened Friday, May 12, 2017 by the Hospice and Palliative Nurses Association (HPNA). Leaders and representatives from 26 specialty nursing organizations will develop a collaborative nursing agenda and action plan focused on three aspects of primary palliative nursing:  communication and advance care planning, coordination and transitions of care, and pain and symptom management.

Immersion in Ecuador

Our trip to Ecuador with The Global Initiatives March 11-20 was an experience like no other. Working directly in the local community, collaborating with local health care professionals, provided us with a unique opportunity to see health care in a way we had never seen before. One day we walked nine miles through the streets of Tumbaco, going door to door administering Polio vaccines and, in their native language of Spanish, educating families on maintaining immunizations.
