Accreditation

The George Washington University School of Nursing will host a Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) accreditation site visit for the baccalaureate, master’s, and Doctor of Nursing Practice programs and our postgraduate APRN certificate programs on April 7-9, 2025.

In accordance with its Procedures for Accreditation of Baccalaureate and Graduate Nursing Programs, CCNE provides the opportunity for program constituents and other interested parties to submit, in writing, comments concerning the program's qualifications for accreditation. Written constituent or third-party comments must be received by CCNE 21 days (March 7, 2025) before the scheduled on-site evaluation.

Third-party comments should relate to the CCNE Standards for Accreditation of Baccalaureate and Graduate Nursing Programs (2024).  Comments are shared only with the CCNE evaluation team appointed to review the GW Nursing program. Your feedback is valued and appreciated.

Please submit comments to CCNE at [email protected].
Or, if you prefer, mail comments to:

The baccalaureate degree program in nursing, master’s degree program in nursing, Doctor of Nursing Practice program and post-graduate APRN certificate program at the George Washington University are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (http://www.ccneaccreditation.org).

The accreditation process ensures that the university provides a high-quality education. When going through this process, accreditors evaluate facilities, staff, faculty, course requirements and educational standards to assess an institution’s capability to provide students with an education that helps them excel in the workforce.

The BSN program at GW Nursing is approved by the Virginia Board of Nursing, and the APRN programs are approved by the DC Board of Nursing.
