Transcript Requirements
We require official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions where you earned college credit, regardless of whether you completed a degree program or whether the coursework appears as transfer credit on another transcript.
A transcript is considered official only if it is sent directly to us by the issuing institution or, if mailed to you, remains sealed (unopened) in the original envelope provided by the institution.
Transcripts uploaded to your application portal during the admissions process are considered unofficial. If you are admitted without all the required official transcripts, your admission will be conditional and will remain so until all official documents are received. The checklist in your application portal tracks the receipt of official transcripts. Please log in regularly to ensure we have all your supporting documents. If you previously attended GW, you are not required to provide an official GW transcript.
We prefer to receive your transcripts via a secure electronic delivery service, such as Parchment or the National Student Clearinghouse. Please ensure that they are sent to The George Washington University School of Nursing (nursing
gwu [dot] edu (nursing[at]gwu[dot]edu)).
For coursework completed at international institutions, we do not require official transcripts to be sent directly from the university. Instead, the international credential evaluation report submitted by an approved organization will satisfy the official transcript requirement for those institutions.
Bachelor's or Master's degree transcripts must be both official and final. Please do not have your official transcript sent until after your school has posted the degree awarded date on the document.
All official transcripts must be received by the start of your first term; otherwise, you may be subject to course registration restrictions.
