Student Services
The GW Nursing Office of Student Services within the Division of Student Affairs oversees academic advising, testing and tutoring, and student engagement. We collaborate with various university offices and departments to provide holistic student support in other areas, including Disability Support Services, Military and Veterans Services, Career Services, health and medical services, etc. We are dedicated to providing the best environment and education for our nation’s future health care leaders and innovators.

Academic Advising
Our academic advisors are the primary academic resource for students. They focus on student learning outcomes and encourage the development of meaningful goals and self-efficacy. While students have the responsibility of creating their schedules and fulfilling all degree requirements, academic advisors provide guidance throughout their entire degree program.

Student Engagement
Encouraging engagement is crucial to inspiring nursing students to make the most of their experience at GW. The student program administrator plans and implements all student engagement programs, including interactive activities, civic engagement initiatives, and student services events. These initiatives provide students with opportunities to be involved in the GW community and beyond.
Peer Tutoring
Enhance study skills and acquire effective learning strategies through our peer tutoring services. Tutoring sessions are conducted by fellow nursing students who have excelled in their coursework. To become a tutor, contact Dr. Stanley Ebede, the Director of Student Services. (First-semester students are not eligible to serve as peer tutors.)
Test Proctoring
We provide test proctoring services to students with approved DSS accommodations. To arrange exam accommodations, submit the Test Proctoring Request Form at least one week before the exam date.
