Vision

Community Engagement Initiatives (CEI) collaborates with organizations and community partners to enhance student service-learning, scholarship and research activities for faculty and staff through the beneficial exchange of knowledge and resources; preparing educated, engaged nurses that enhance the health of the communities they serve.  

Mission

The mission of Community Engagement Initiatives (CEI) is to create partnerships between GW Nursing resources and community partners to enrich service-learning, scholarship, and creative activity locally and nationally.  GW Nursing seeks to engage students and faculty and contribute to community partnerships through a beneficial exchange of knowledge and resources.

Objectives

Objective #1

Collaborate with community partners to enhance research, scholarship and service-learning for students and faculty that address the needs of the community.

Objective #2

Develop and create innovative models for comprehensive service learning opportunities between the community and the school of nursing which address diverse populations and community health needs.

Objective #3

Provide a dedicated environment for GW Nursing students and faculty to enhance their community knowledge, skills and abilities through service-learning experiences to inform their responsibility to improve the health of the communities they serve.
