Rishika Chakraborty received her Ph.D. in Environmental Health from Indiana University Bloomington in 2023. Her area of research has focused on promoting health equity in women and children, specifically those residing in low resource settings in India, Ecuador, and South Africa. Her prior work has investigated how food and water insecurity are critical determinants of health and nutrition in children and adults, and understanding how improving socioeconomic conditions impacts women’s health, particularly mothers, in their mid-to-later life. At GWU, she is working on various projects regarding regulatory and industry contexts related to substance use (e.g. tobacco, cannabis) and health outcomes.
