- Health Policy Brief Series
The Center for Health Policy and Media Engagement sponsored a policy brief series in 2020 that focused on health policies with significant nursing implications. Selected briefs are published on our website and in coordination with the journal, Policy, Politics, & Nursing Practice.
- GW Nursing Journalism Award
The GW Nursing Journalism Award was created in 2019 to recognize excellence in health care and health policy reporting for journalists using nurses as key sources. It encouraged and recognized the journalists who helped to move the needle when it comes to nurses’ representation in health news and media.
- Media Engagement for Nurses
For nurses who wished to become the go-to source for journalists and organizations and to develop their messaging and media relations skills, we offered training with experts in health journalism, media, and nursing.
- Reflective Narratives for Clinicians
For nurses who wished to enhance their writing ability, while preventing burnout and augmenting their empathy as a practitioner, the Center offered workshops led by the former poet-in-residence, Joy Jacobson, MFA.
