Carrie Luong is a visiting professor at the School of Nursing, ABSN program. She is a licensed family nurse practitioner and works as a telemedicine consultant provider. Dr. Luong teaches pathophysiology, simulation, and online courses at GW. She has been a nurse for almost five years at the orthopedic and neurosurgery unit. She used to teach clinical courses and work as a graduate teaching assistant during her doctoral candidacy year. Her scholarly research focuses on increasing cardiovascular disease knowledge and awareness in primary care settings through enhanced provider-to-patient education. She implemented the routine use of the atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease risk assessment screening tool at an outpatient clinic in Annandale, Virginia. Dr. Luong enjoys mentoring students, providing them with support and guiding them through the developing stage of their nursing profession.
