The GW Student Nurses Association (SNA) hosted its first ‘Lunch and Learn’ information session in collaboration with GW Nursing's Office of Community Engagement and Inova Health System, the largest non-profit and leading healthcare provider in Northern Virginia. Organized and led by SNA’s Jeffrey Kai (Cohort 29), GW Nursing's Shawn Bayrd, and Inova Talent Acquisition Lead Skye Bennett, the event was attended by over 70 students, GW Nursing alumni, and Inova Talent Acquisition team members - the greatest SNA event turnout to date.
A panel of GW Nursing alumni consisting of Sarah Knapp, Cameron Lew, Mary Clouse, and Aspen Waddle who are all currently associated with Inova spoke with students about career opportunities at Inova and their post-BSN program experiences and provided mentorship to their fellow colleagues as they prepare to enter the nursing profession.
This initiative provided insight into post-graduation experiences at Inova and fostered networking opportunities for both GW Nursing students and healthcare providers throughout the Inova Health system.
