GW Nursing News
Technology is Transforming Nursing Education
The future of healthcare education is here, and it’s brighter—and more immersive—than ever. Today’s nursing students practice clinical skills in virtual hospital rooms with animated patients powered by artificial intelligence. They listen to interviews with nurse leaders on their smartphones, and watch engaging, video-driven lectures delivered by talented nurse educators. With that at top of mind, GW Nursing offers top-tier learning experiences for nursing students.
GW Nursing Alumna Develops Deprescribing Training Program for Nurse Practitioners
An emerging field of research that studies the effects of multiple medications is gaining attention among health care providers and nurse researchers. Polypharmacy, often defined as the simultaneous use of five or more prescription drugs, is more common in an aging population where multiple coexisting chronic conditions often occur. But the risk of adverse drug events is a concern, especially when the prescribed medications no longer provide the desired outcome.
Record Number of GW Nursing Students Participate in the 2022 GW Research Showcase
Approximately 400 undergraduate, graduate and professional students across disciplines participated in the annual GW research showcase event coordinated by the Office of the Vice Provost for Research. Categorized by discipline, students presented their work before a panel of judges, vying for honors and special prizes.
