About The Center
At GW Nursing, we believe including a global perspective is key to providing a comprehensive nursing education. The Community and Global Initiatives Program offers students access to global academic opportunities as well as service-oriented learning experiences in Haiti, Ecuador, Uganda and Costa Rica. Our program also encourages students to analyze key social determinants of health in the United States and around the world through course offerings in Community/Public Health Nursing, Population and Global Health.
Many of our faculty are leaders in global nursing. Our team aims to support their scholarship through building intercultural and inter-professional opportunities with health care providers around the world. We foster academic and clinical partnerships such as with Pusan National University Yangsan Hospital, South Korea, Universidad Hispanoamericana, San Jose, Costa Rica, Thammassat University in Thailand, Universidad San Francisco de Quito, Quito Ecuador, Yonsei University Department of Nursing, and the Wonju College of Medicine in Wonju, South Korea. We also have a strong partnership with SAE-A Trading Company Ltd., (SAE-A) a global corporation from South Korea.
