Rebecca Morrow, who recently transitioned from interim to official Director of Student Services at the George Washington University School of Nursing, is leading with a strong focus on student-centered support, community building, and operational excellence.

Since stepping into her leadership role, Morrow has navigated a period of significant change within the Student Services team. With multiple personnel transitions underway, she knew consistency and trust would be critical to maintaining the high level of service students expect.

"I have been focusing on supporting new team members, streamlining communication and specific processes, and ensuring that despite the internal changes, our students and student services staff continued to feel supported, heard, and prioritized," Morrow said. "Through collaboration and a student-centered mindset, we have been able to not only maintain services but also start laying the foundation for stronger systems, resources, and better engagement moving forward."

Now officially at the helm, Morrow’s vision for Student Services is expansive. She aims to create not just a functional office, but a welcoming and dynamic space where students feel a true sense of belonging.

"My vision is to continue building on our student-centered approach, ensuring that every interaction prioritizes their success and well-being. I want students to feel comfortable coming into our suite — not just for advising, but for connection and community."

Morrow hopes that the strong relationships built through Student Services will endure well beyond graduation day. "I envision a school environment where student experiences are so memorable that when they leave and become alumni, they continue to speak highly of their experience for years to come, proudly encouraging others to attend because of the support they received here."

Looking ahead, Morrow sees tremendous opportunity for growth — both within the Student Services department and across the GW Nursing community. Expanding holistic student resources, refining internal workflows, and elevating student engagement efforts are at the top of her priorities.

"By strengthening support across academic, career, wellness, and engagement areas, we can ensure our students feel seen, valued, and empowered throughout their journey at GW Nursing — and beyond," she said. She also emphasized the importance of streamlining internal processes to allow staff to spend more time on meaningful student interactions.

"We have tremendous potential to elevate student engagement," Morrow added. "Through dynamic social events, personalized advising experiences, and intentional community-building efforts, we can foster a culture where students feel truly connected, supported, and involved in the life of the school."

Outside of her professional life, Morrow finds her greatest joy in family and community. She and her husband are raising their energetic four-year-old daughter and nine-month-old son, embracing the fun and chaos of early parenthood.

"Every moment feels like an adventure, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything," she said.

An avid dog lover, Morrow shares her home with three dogs and volunteers with the German Wirehaired Pointer Rescue, helping dogs find their forever homes. When she finds a quiet moment, she enjoys hiking, camping, reading, and exploring local coffee shops.

With a passion for building community and a clear vision for enhancing student experiences, Rebecca Morrow is poised to make a lasting impact at GW Nursing.
