Congratulations to our Fellows

Three of GW Nursing's faculty members have been honored as Fellows by professional organizations this year.

Dr. Jeanne Murphy was inducted as a Fellow in the American College of Nurse Midwives in May during the organization’s annual meeting. Dr. Murphy is a practicing certified nurse-midwife with special interests in lactation, colposcopy and care of underserved women. In addition to teaching, she works as a nurse-midwife at University of Maryland St. Joseph Medical Center 

Dr. Karen Whitt was inducted as an American Association of Nurse Practitioners Fellow in June.  Recently, Dr. Whitt has been working on a collaborative project with the Office of the National Coordinator of Health IT to evaluate electronic health records and patient safety. Dr. Whitt teaches in the graduate programs at GW Nursing.

Dr. Joyce Hahn in November will be inducted as a Fellow in the American Academy of Nursing during its Transforming Health, Driving Policy conference in Washington, D.C. is a founding faculty member at GW Nursing and brings extensive knowledge and expertise in nursing education, nursing leadership, quality, regulatory issues, policy and health care delivery issues to her teaching. She is also on the board of the Virginia Board of Nursing.
