Dr. Sandra Davis will serve as GW Nursing's first Assistant Dean for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. Over the past several months, Dr. Davis and Christine Yeh have co-chaired an advisory council charged by Dean Jeffries to outline recommendations to promote diversity, equity and inclusion at the school. As a new school initiative and GW university priority, the creation of a leadership role to lead in this area was a key recommendation of the advisory council.

In this new role, Dr. Davis will continue to roll out additional recommendations from the council.

Previously, Dr. Davis was the Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner program director before stepping down this semester to focus on diversity initiatives.

Dr. Davis began her career in podiatry, where she spent years in private practice before transitioning to a career in nursing. She has been in academia for the past 16 years serving in both faculty and administrative roles and was recently promoted to associate professor this summer.
