GW Hospital Nursing Scholars Program
The George Washington University School of Nursing has partnered with GW Hospital to offer the Nursing Scholars Program opportunity to registered nurses who hold an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) and nursing students entering the Accelerated or Veteran Bachelor of Nursing (ABSN/VBSN) programs.
RN Student
As an RN-BSN student, you will enroll in our online 15-month RN-BSN program option while working as an RN at GW Hospital in exchange for the hospital covering 100% of your tuition.
ABSN/VBSN Student
As an ABSN/VBSN student, GW Hospital will cover 50% of tuition while you enroll in the program. For both options, you commit to fulfilling three years of employment at GW Hospital following graduation from the program.
Program Overview
The RN-BSN pathway requires you to complete 21 online credit hours, 45 clinical community health hours and a professional portfolio of up to 15 credits for advanced standing, making this an ideal entry into a master’s program.
You will take an average of six credits of online coursework each semester and work full-time as an RN in an assigned unit at GW Hospital. Resident nurses must meet our admissions requirements as well as the employment requirements of GW Hospital.
GW Hospital pays your tuition in full and offers you full-time employment throughout your education and at least three years after graduation.

RNs and ABSN/VBSN students who are looking to further their career and experience working in the heart of our nation’s capital should apply for this program.
