U.S. News & World Report released its annual rankings for graduate nursing programs today, in which GW Nursing’s Master of Science in Nursing tied at 43 and Doctor of Nursing Practice programs tied at 37. In addition, the school was ranked in the specialty category of Family Nurse Practitioner tied at 16.
In January, GW also tied at sixth among online graduate nursing programs with the veterans’ online graduate programs ranking second overall.
“I’m pleased to continue to see GW ranked among best nursing programs in the country,” said Dean Pamela Jeffries. “The efforts of our students, faculty, staff and alumni continue to make GW Nursing the destination for modern nursing education and health policy conversations.”
To compile the four rankings of nursing school programs, accredited schools of nursing with master’s, DNP and online graduate programs were surveyed. U.S. News & World Report’s methodology ranks programs using a weighted measurement of five categories that include, faculty credentials and training, student services and technology, student engagement, admissions selectivity and peer assessment.
Among the 278 schools surveyed for the nursing master’s and DNP programs, 252 provided sufficient data to be included in the nursing master’s programs and 182 in the DNP programs.
