Congratulations to Lauren Davis and Tracey Meyers! The two GW Nursing students were honored with the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nursing Students at the school’s December 2021 Pinning ceremony held at the GW Lisner Auditorium in Washington, D.C.

The DAISY Award was created by the family of Patrick Barnes, who was diagnosed with auto-immune disease ITP (Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura) in his early 30s and succumbed to the disease after an eight-week hospitalization.

It was during his hospital stay that the Barnes family experienced the “skillful and compassionate care Patrick received from his nurses.” As a way to say “thank you” to nurses everywhere they established a recognition program, The DAISY Award For Extraordinary Nurses (The DAISY Award). Through this and other recognition programs, they honor the super-human work nurses do for patients and families every day. (https://www.daisyfoundation.org/
