Wreaths Across America Day
Each December, Wreaths Across America carries out wreath-laying ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery and more than 1,600 additional locations in all 50 states, at sea and abroad.
This year, Wreaths Across America Day will take place on Saturday, Dec. 14. GW Nursing is organizing a group to go to Union Cemetery Chapel in Leesburg, Virginia. Students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends are all welcome to volunteer. There are approximately 700 wreaths that will need to be placed spaced out over two time periods:
- 9 a.m. - Unloading of wreaths
- Noon - Laying of wreaths
We strongly encourage all volunteers to attend the ceremony beginning at 11:30 a.m.
