WASHINGTON, D.C. –  The George Washington University School of Nursing proudly announces that Dr. Angie Stanley has achieved two of the highest honors in the nursing profession, demonstrating exceptional leadership and scholarly excellence that brings distinction to our academic community.

Dr. Stanley was inducted into the Fellowship of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) on Thursday, June 19, marking a historic milestone as this recognition coincided with FAANP's 25th anniversary celebration. This prestigious fellowship acknowledges nurse practitioners who have demonstrated exceptional professional achievement, leadership in the field, and dedication to advancing the profession.

Additionally, Dr. Stanley has been selected as a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing (FAAN), joining an elite group of nursing leaders who represent the pinnacle of professional achievement. Fellowship in the American Academy of Nursing is considered the highest honor in the nursing profession, reserved for those who have made significant contributions to nursing and healthcare through their leadership, research, policy work, or clinical excellence.

"Dr. Stanley's dual recognition reflects not only her individual excellence but also the caliber of faculty leadership that defines our School of Nursing," said Dean Susan Kelly-Weeder. "When a faculty member achieves FAAN status, it elevates our entire institution. Dr. Stanley's fellowship reflects the caliber of scholarship and leadership excellence that defines our school, positioning us among the nation's premier nursing schools. As she joins this distinguished cohort, her achievements in both clinical practice and academic scholarship exemplify our commitment to advancing nursing science and improving health outcomes for communities we serve."

These honors position Dr. Stanley among the most influential voices in nursing, where she joins a distinguished network of professionals working to shape the future of healthcare through innovation, policy development, and evidence-based practice.

The George Washington University School of Nursing continues to attract and retain faculty members whose work advances the profession and enhances its reputation as a leading institution in nursing education and research.
