On Wednesday, February 8, the Future of Nursing Campaign for Action, sponsored by the AARP Foundation and Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, along with the Nursing Community Coalition, hosted a reception in the Rayburn House Office Building on Capitol Hill. The reception welcomed the 118th Congress and honored the Congressional Nursing Caucus and Congressional nurse champions, to advance healthcare through nursing. Attending from GW were Assistant Vice President for Government and Community Relations Renee McPhatter; Dean Mei Fu; and Policy, Populations, and Systems Faculty Community Chair Ashley Darcy-Mahoney. "The reception urged the 118th congress to consider how policies at all levels impact nurses’ capacity to provide the kind of just and compassionate care we are trained to provide, and want to provide," said Dr. Darcy-Mahoney.
