Susan C. Reinhard is a senior vice president at AARP, directing its Public Policy Institute (PPI), the focal point for public policy research and analysis at the state, federal, and international levels. She leads PPI's Family Caregiving Initiatives and also serves as the chief strategist for the Center to Champion Nursing in America, a national resource center created to ensure that America has the highly skilled nurses it needs to provide care in the future.

Pamela Jeffries, professor and dean of the George Washington University School of Nursing, is internationally known for her research and work in nursing and health care education. Throughout the academic community, she is well regarded for her scholarly contributions to the development of innovative teaching strategies, experiential learning techniques, new pedagogies and the delivery of content using technology. Dean Jeffries is a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing, the Society for Simulation in Healthcare and the Academy of Nursing Education. She also serves on the board of the American Academy of Nursing and is a member of the National Academies of Sciences’ Global Forum on Innovation in Health Professional Education.

Sr. Associate Dean of Academic Affairs; Clinical Associate Professor

Pamela Slaven-Lee is a clinical associate professor and senior associate dean for academic affairs. Prior to GW, Dr. Slaven-Lee held faculty appointments at Georgetown University and Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. She is a Sigma Thera Tau Leadership Academy scholar. Her principal areas of practice include leadership, administration, family practice, internal medicine, pathology, gastroenterology, hepatology and simulation-based learning. Dr. Slaven-Lee is a Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE), providing curricular support, leadership, and coordination of on-campus simulation-based learning events. She is licensed in Washington, D.C., and Virginia as a family nurse practitioner.

Assistant Dean for B.S.N., GW Nursing

Mark Tanner, is assistant dean of the bachelor of science in nursing program and a clinical associate professor of nursing in the Acute and Chronic Care faculty community. Dr. Tanner previously served as director of the B.S.N. program at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS), where he also earned his DNP. He worked at UAMS Hospital in the Progressive Care and Critical Care units where he specialized in medical and neurological/neurosurgical patients. He began as a full-time faculty member at the UAMS College of Nursing in 2012 and has taught courses on Pathophysiology, Adult Med-Surg, Fundamentals, and Critical Care in the BSN program. Dr. Tanner was named to Arkansas Great 100 Nurses in 2018 and to Arkansas Action Coalition 40 Under 40 Nurse Leaders in 2017.is assistant dean of the bachelor of science in nursing program and a clinical associate professor of nursing in the Acute and Chronic Care faculty community. Paul Challan is a graduating nursing student who is starting his career at Inova Fairfax Hospital in their Psychiatric/Mental Health unit in 2021. Having spent years in the restaurant industry learning how to give excellent service to people, and starting a small business designing and selling innovative bike bags he is now excited to start on his new career. Paul believes that healthcare requires a holistic approach and he trusts in evidenced-based research to show that we cannot simply rely on pharmaceutical medications to care for our patients. 

Paul was born in Mexico City, raised in New York City, and has lived in Washington, D.C. for the last 11 years with his family. He holds a BA in History from the College of the Holy Cross, an M.S. in International Relations from NYU, and is a member of Sigma Theta Tau, the International Honor Society of Nursing.

Associate Vice President, Development and Alumni Relations

Patricia Carocci is the senior associate vice president of alumni relations and annual giving. She has more than 25 years of experience in development and alumni relations, including roles at the University of Maryland Smith School of Business, Sidwell Friends School, Catholic University of America and the University of Pennsylvania. Most recently, she served as director of advancement at The Spence School in New York.

Jenna Chamberlain is a wife, mom of two and a US Navy Veteran from Louisiana. After serving in the military as a Hospital Corpsman for seven years, she decided to pursue her dream and attend The George Washington University School of Nursing. She is a two-time Ironman 70.3 finisher and spends her free time with her family and traveling.
