GW Nursing Alum Serves as Team Lead in Field Hospital

Like millions of other Americans, Leah McElhanon, FNP-C, was furloughed in mid-March because of the coronavirus pandemic. Unlike most of them, she is not spending April on the couch with Netflix. Instead, Ms. McElhanon is working 12-hour night shifts as a health care team lead in a Santa Clara, Calif. field hospital dedicated to taking care of COVID-19 patients.

Dustin McKague M.S.N., FNP-BC, CWCN-AP works as a nurse practitioner in a Eugene, Ore. clinic, studies in GW Nursing's Ph.D. program and now spends his spare time sewing cloth masks for those who need them amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

GW Nursing M.S.N. rose 10 places in U.S. News rankings

GW Nursing’s Master of Science in Nursing rose 10 places to 33 in today’s U.S. News & World Report annual rankings for graduate nursing programs. GW’s Doctor of Nursing Practice (D.N.P.) programs tied at 45. In addition, the school was ranked in the specialty category of D.N.P.: Administration/Management tied at seven.
