Sigma Theta Tau

GW Honor Society of Nursing: Phi Epsilon Chapter, Sigma Theta Tau

As the largest institution of higher education in the nation’s capital, GW offers an array of graduate programs across the University. With that in mind, the School of Nursing, recognizing the shared ideals of academic freedom and excellence, and a shared purpose of service to the nation and the world, established an Honor Society in Nursing.

The ultimate goal for the Society is to become a chartered Chapter in Sigma Theta Tau International. To become chartered, it is necessary to establish an operational honor society. We ask alumni, nurse leaders in the community, nurse leaders in the GW Hospital, and our current students to support us in this effort.

Modeled upon the structure and goals of Sigma Theta Tau, as a School we stand for “love, courage, and honor” in all our endeavors as health care professionals. We recognize that our practice is based upon skill, scholarship, and research. As an Honor Society, we understand that we can recognize and reward our excellence by forging collaborative relationships with our community and hospital colleagues.

The Phi Epsilon Chapter can also be accessed on Sigma Theta Tau Internationalfacebook, or LinkedIn.
