Diana Mason Receives Two Leadership Awards

GW Nursing Senior Policy Service Professor Diana J. Mason, Ph.D., RN, FAAN, received Sigma Theta Tau international's Archon Award for her leadership in nursing and health care, and Villanova University's M. Louise Fitzpatrick Transformational Leadership Award. Affiliated with GW Nursing’s Center for Health Policy and Media Engagement, Dr. Mason is an advocate for empowering nurses with the tools they need to share their knowledge and perspective with the public through media.

Y. Tony Yang Receives Endowed Professorship in Health Policy

George Washington University School of Nursing professor Y. Tony Yang has been named the inaugural recipient of the Endowed Professorship in Health Policy. The endowed professorship was established to recognize a distinguished scholar with a proven record of outstanding achievement in health policy research and education, as measured by scholarly activity and international professional reputation.

Celebrating a Top Ranking School of Nursing

GW Nursing held a gala Saturday evening to celebrate its 10th anniversary replete with guest speakers, swag boxes and gourmet meals delivered to the virtual attendees. A silent auction raised $156,000 for student scholarships, including $50,000 from an anonymous donor.
GW Nursing catapults into US News top 25

At #22, the George Washington University School of Nursing broke into the top 25 of the U.S. News and World Report rankings for graduate nursing programs on Tuesday. The 11-place jump is a testament to the school’s growing reputation as a premier destination for nursing students looking to excel in policy, leadership (#6), and family nurse practitioner (#8). In addition, the school’s Doctor of Nursing Practice (D.N.P.) program jumped to #28, which is a monumental gain from its #45 ranking a year ago.
