Information for Veterans
Our commitment to honoring your military service is a common thread throughout the services and benefits available to military veterans here at GW Nursing. We want to offer you the best possible educational experience, which is why our Veterans Bachelor of Science in Nursing (VBSN) program offers credit for your military experience, as well as any applicable academic experience.
How To Apply
You will follow the standard application process, which begins with the TargetX. Start an online application by creating an account through our portal where you will enter all pertinent information and required supporting documentation. If you have any questions about the portal or the process of submitting an application, contact the Office of Admissions at 571-553-0138 or [email protected].
Credit & Experience
Veterans B.S.N. applicants must have a minimum of 60 credits to begin this program. These credits can be drawn from military and academic experience. You may request an optional pre-admission review of transcripts to survey what credits are eligible for transfer into this program.
Scholarships
GW is a proud participant in the Yellow Ribbon program, a provision of the Post-9/11 GI Bill®* providing assistance with educational expenses. This program allows higher learning institutions in the U.S. to voluntarily enter into an agreement with the Department of Veterans Affairs to fund tuition expenses exceeding maximum base pay. Additionally, Veterans are eligible to apply to the Transitioning Warriors Scholarship for additional funding.
*GI Bill® is a registered trademark of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). More information about education benefits offered by VA is available at the official U.S. government Web site at https://www.benefits.va.
