Ranked #19 in the country, the George Washington University School of Nursing’s Master of Science in Nursing Program has broken into the top 20 of U.S. News & World Report’s Best Master’s Programs! GW’s Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Program secured a spot in the top 30, ranked at #28 for Best DNP Programs.
These excellent rankings, paired with the school’s top 10 rankings in multiple specialty areas, are a testament to GW’s growing reputation as a premier destination for nurses looking to advance their careers and excel in administration/management/leadership (MSN #6, DNP #6), family nurse practitioner (MSN #11, DNP #11), and adult-gerontology acute care (MSN #7, DNP #7). Graduate students at GW Nursing can also pursue specialties in psychiatric mental health, nurse midwifery, adult-gerontology primary care, health policy, and nursing practice.
“I’m extremely proud of our faculty, staff, students, alumni and friends who made this possible. To begin my interim deanship with such stellar rankings reflects our commitment to excellence, creativity in education, and student-centered approach to learning,” said Founding Dean Jean Johnson, who was recently appointed interim dean of the GW School of Nursing. “For a school to accomplish this in just 13 years is astounding, especially when you consider our top 10 rankings for online master’s programs. When we founded the school in 2010, we knew it was capable of greatness and I’m delighted to see that we were right. Students from around the country have seen the value of our programs and we’re glad that our colleagues in academe agree.”
This year, 190 schools were included in the ranking of master’s degree programs, and 175 were included in the D.N.P. ranking. U.S. News ranks programs based on 14 indicators, including a peer assessment score, selectivity markers and faculty credentials.
GW Nursing offers several options for study within the two ranked programs:
