GW Nursing’s Master of Science in Nursing rose 10 places to 33 in today’s U.S. News & World Report annual rankings for graduate nursing programs. GW’s Doctor of Nursing Practice (D.N.P.) programs tied at 45. In addition, the school was ranked in the specialty category of D.N.P.: Administration/Management tied at seven.
“I’m pleased that GW continues to rank among the best nursing programs in the country,” said Dean Pamela Jeffries. “Our faculty and staff work hard to provide a students-first experience, making GW Nursing the destination for modern nursing education.”
This year, 236 nursing programs were included in the ranking of master’s programs and 170 were included in the D.N.P. ranking.
Earlier this year, GW’s master of science in nursing came in at number six, staying in the U.S. News & World Report’s top 10 for online graduate programs for the second year in a row.
GW Nursing also scored in the new master's-level specialty rankings of online nursing programs. M.S.N.: Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner tied for fourth, and both M.S.N.: Family Nurse Practitioner and M.S.N.: Nursing Leadership and Management tied for fifth in their respective categories. This is the first year U.S. News has ranked online nursing specialties.
When it came to military students, GW Nursing ranked third best for online master's programs for veterans.
U.S. News ranks programs based on 14 indicators, including a peer assessment score, selectivity markers and faculty credentials.
